Which Breeo X Series is Right for You: 19 or 24?

Interested in buying a Breeo but can’t decide between the X Series 19 and 24? Then you’ve come to the right place. We’ll share our first hand knowledge of the two products, explain their differences, and help you choose the right fire pit.

What the 19 and 24 have in common

The 19 and 24 X Series model are very similar. They’re both high-quality smokeless fire pits that will last a lifetime. And yes, they’re actually smokeless. They’re both made of 304 stainless steel (also a corten steel option).

The technology that makes them smokeless is the same. The two models even look the same.

Let’s get into how they’re different.

Main differences

The biggest difference between the 19 and 24 is the size. The 24 has a larger diameter than the 19. It also weighs more.

The different in size impacts how much wood you’ll burn, how easy they are to move, and what accessories you’ll add. And of course, the bigger model also has a higher cost.

Comparing the size specs

The three measurements to think about are diameter, height, and weight.

The two models are the exact same height (14.75″), so the size difference is in the width. The smaller 19 has an inner diameter of 17″. The 24 has a diameter of 22.5″, which is about 33% wider.

The 19 weighs in at 47 lbs. The 24 weighs 62 lbs, a difference of 15 lbs. If you’re wondering why they’re so heavy, it’s because they’re constructed out of thicker stainless steel than other competitors.

A note on diameter

Breeo references the ‘outside’ diameter in the fire pit specifications. We prefer to look at the inside diameter since that determines how big the actual fire can be. The difference between the inner diameter and outside diameter is the width of the rim, which 2.5″ (time two). So subtract 5″ from the outside diameter to get the inner diameter.

Cooking

There are several cooking options for bot the Breeo X Series 24 and 19 fire pits. The best cooking accessory in my opinion in the Breeo Outpost grill grate. The Outpost consists of a stainless steel grate that attaches to a pole. That pole inserts into a hole in the rim of the fire pit. The grate adjusts up and down allowing for cooking at just the right temperature.

When it comes to cooking, the main difference between the two models the size of the cooking surface. The X Series 19 has a diameter of 15.5″, which is about 189 square inches. Meanwhile the X Series 24 has cooking diameter of 20.5″, or about 330 square inches. Doing the math, the 24 has about 75% more cooking space than the 19. That’s a considerable difference.

Portability

Given that both models are made of heavy-duty materials like stainless steel and have a relatively large size, neither of them can be considered highly portable. However, there are still some differences between the two models that may affect their portability.

Bottom line, while neither the X Series 19 nor the X Series 24 can be considered highly portable due to their weight and size. The X Series 19 is 15 lbs lighter, so it’s a little easier to pick up.

Accessories

The Breeo X Series 19 and X Series 24 fire pits have similar accessory options available, with some variations in size and price to fit the different dimensions of the fire pits. Here are some of the accessories available for both models:

  • Fire tools: These include pokers, ash scoops, and other tools designed to help you manage the fire pit. These would be the same for both fire pit models
  • Lid: A lid accessory that can be used to cover the fire pit when not in use, protecting it from the elements and helping to prevent rainwater from collecting inside. Comparing the 19 and 24 Lids, the only difference is the size and price
  • Outpost grill: This accessory allows you to cook over the open fire using a grill grate and pole system. As mentioned earlier, there the Outpost 24 has about 75% more cooking surface than the 19.

Burning wood

The Breeo X Series 19 and X Series 24 fire pits have some differences when it comes to log burning. Breeo recommends using 14″ to 16″ wood for the X Series 19 and 16” to 18” wood for the X Series 24. This difference in log size recommendation is due to the larger size of the X Series 24 fire pit.

The X Series 24 has a larger diameter and greater overall volume. As a result, it can hold more wood and will burn through logs more quickly than the X Series 19. This can be both a pro and a con, depending on your preferences. On one hand, the larger size of the X Series 24 can make it more suitable for larger gatherings and longer burn times.

On the other hand, burning through logs more quickly can be more expensive if you need to constantly replenish your wood supply.

Price

Generally speaking, the Breeo X Series 24 is about 50% more expensive than the X Series 19. The larger size and greater materials needed to construct the X Series 24 make it a more costly option, while the smaller size and reduced materials needed for the X Series 19 make it a more affordable choice.

Stainless Steel vs Corten Steel

The Breeo X Series 19 and X Series 24 fire pits are available in two different material options: stainless steel and corten steel. Each material has its own unique properties and characteristics that may affect your choice of fire pit.

Stainless steel is a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material that is easy to clean and maintain. It has a shiny, metallic appearance and is often used in modern or contemporary designs. Stainless steel fire pits are resistant to rust, making them a good choice for long-term outdoor use.

Corten steel is a weathering steel that is designed to develop a rust-like patina over time. This patina forms a protective layer over the steel, helping to prevent further corrosion and giving the fire pit a unique, rustic appearance.

Another big difference here is price. The stainless steel version costs $100 more for the X Series 19, and $200 more for the X Series 24.

Our recommendation

From someone who has used both the Breeo X Series 19 and X Series 24, my recommendation would be to choose the X Series 24. The 24 is better for larger gatherings or if you plan on doing a lot of cooking. With its larger size, the X Series 24 can accommodate more logs and provide a larger cooking surface area, making it better suited for bigger groups and more extensive cooking needs.

On the other hand, if you prioritize portability or have a smaller outdoor living space, the X Series 19 may be the better option for you. Its smaller size and lighter weight make it easier to move around, and it is the more affordable choice.

I own the X Series 24 in corten steel, and I absolutely love it. I currently have stone pavers surrounding it, mainly for safety purposes. (The pavers cost about $100 at Home Depot and are easy to install)

Both the X Series 19 and X Series 24 are great fire pit options from Breeo, and your choice will depend on your specific needs and preferences. Consider factors such as size, weight, cost, and cooking needs when making your decision, and choose the fire pit that will best suit your outdoor living space and lifestyle.
